The SAS™Kit (Small Area Sampling Kit) is designed to sample small areas using a Dacron Swab or Dacron pad.
Wet or dry samples can be taken with this kit.
Two Dacron swabs are included in the SAS™Kit and can be moistened with the buffer provided and used for wet areas or powders.
The swab can then be broken off into the buffer bottle, placed into the 50mL centrifuge tube and shipped in the plastic bag provided for transport to a lab for analysis.
A chain-of-custody form is also included with each kit to record sample collection information.
The kit can be used to test for munitions or munition fragments and packages with suspicious liquids or powders.
The SAS™Kit is not intended to be used for testing soil, dirt or very dusty, dirty or porous surfaces.
The kit is sterilized by Cobalt 60 irradiation at an ISO accredited facility.
